Campaign: reinstate settler-violence sanctions

The 2024 sanctions framework (Executive Order 14115) proved targeted designations work — designated individuals' accounts froze within days. It was revoked in January 2025. With the Tal attack and the reprisal wave in the news, this week is the moment to put reinstatement in front of your members of Congress.

The asks

  • Publicly support reinstating and expanding targeted sanctions on individuals and entities responsible for West Bank settler violence, including those previously designated under EO 14115.
  • Press for enforcement of the Leahy Law regarding any units credibly implicated in gross violations.
  • Ask for a written statement of the member's position — offices track which asks demand a reply.

How to say it

Congress members take webforms and calls, not direct email — copy the letter, then paste it into their contact form (links below). The letter has three bracketed slots; the personal sentence is what stops it being counted as a bot blast. Fill all three or don't send it.

The asks

  • Reinstate and expand sanctions on violent settlers and their funding networks (the 2024 executive-order framework showed this works — accounts froze within days).
  • Enforce existing US law: the Leahy Law bars assistance to units credibly implicated in gross violations — ask for its application, by name.
  • Support full funding of UN humanitarian operations in Gaza — the pipeline is narrowing while needs remain (cite the OCHA numbers on the Gaza card).

How to say it

Personalize or it doesn't count as much: one sentence on who you are and why you care, one ask, thank you. Staffers tally topic + position; identical scripts from many callers get discounted and copy-paste tweets get flagged as coordinated.

  • Show up to your member's August-recess town hall with one question, stated calmly, filmed.
  • Join an existing chapter rather than founding a duplicate — USCPR, AMP, JVP, and student groups have local infrastructure.
